I had informed the buyer that I still have a loan on the car, and later the buyer came back and told me his bank would pay off my car loan, and whatever the difference is, the bank will cut me a check. The buyer said he will be leasing this car through his bank, but I had never heard of a used car private party lease. I want to know if this is something legit.

5 years ago when i was NH resident, i bought new car from the dealer in MA. The dealer then didn’t tax me as i was going to register my car in NH. NH didn’t collect any sales tax as there is no such thing in NH and got my registration done. However, 3 months ago i moved to MA and tried to register my vehicle.
MA is now asking me to pay the salestax at the original purchase price and penalty for all these 5 years. I don’t know what i should do now.
If there are anyone who faced similar situation?
What is the solution?

I heard that some people purchase cars out of state to avoid high sales tax here in California. Does this work or is it worth it for new or used cars? Does anyone know whats involved? Would it be worth it to even fly to another state and then drive back? Anyone have any experience in this area?

We have a price set. I want to make sure that I do everything I need to, because he is permanently moving outside the US, so if something is forgotten or neglected, it could be impossible to recify it.

I assume that I need to write out a bill of sale for each of us, saying this car was purchased on this date for x amount of dollars.
