I support the WGA 100% they are doing the right thing and they are only asking for their fair share of the profits for dvd and internet sales. I don’t think its too much to ask. When i rented a movie a month ago, they said i owed them for an overdue dvd. I told them that i already returned it 2 months ago. I went back a couple of days later to talk to the manager, but she was at lunch. The corporate office (or whoever) sent me a card stating that i need to return the movie.

Some people told me that the overdue fee would be high (like $100), because they could claim possible lost of revenue (other people could be renting this movie). But, isn’t that illegal (that’s why BlockBuster got sued)? Will this stupid thing ruin my credit? Can i buy this movie from somewhere else and just give it too them?

Recently laid off and get alot of movies off mininova. I would literally cry if I had to pay to see half of these movies. Step Brothers, Get Smart, The Ruins, and the most recent xfiles. How do these movies make it to production? Step Brothers was like working to get through the entire thing. I grew up watching xfiles, and the most recent movie was like a watered down Law and Order, there was nothing xfilish about it. Makes you wonder how bad the movies that go directly to DVD really are? And all of you who answered Wrong. Well, I guess you never used a vcr to copy tv or cable. The exact same thing. The only difference is the actors in hollywood don’t get their $$. I don’t think that they should receive more money than most people make in a lifetime for only 4 to 6 months worth of work. People have been programmed to think that it is necessary to charge $20 a movie when it is should be so much cheaper.
