I say a mustang. I would go with a ‘99-’04 just because those are the kind I like…. you could get a pretty nice one for 9,000. I would suggest not getting a GT because that will make the insurance more expensive.

I bought my 16 year old daughter a 1992 Mustang Convertible with automatic transmission and electric top, CD, A/C power everything with only 94,000 miles for $1950.00 here in California. I’m a single parent and can’t go much more.

The insurance cost is excellent because it’s a four cylinder, and I also know she cannot race it around town because a four cylinder is incapable of it.

I did do some research prior to buying it by googling “What’s the best car to buy a teenager?” I pasted a couple of sights below for you.

I think I would spend half that amount that you have saved so that you can meet hidden expenses like a transmission flush, oil changes, seat covers and trinkets you’ll want to make it “Yours” with.

To make my answer to you even more simple, I like the Subaru’s, especially the ones with tight turning radius, and the built in cage in the body and drop out engine for front end collisions. Those cars are really practical.

The more popular choices are Pontiac Grand Am and Sunfire, the Chevy Caviler and Cobalt, the Dodge Neon and Ford Focus. However, most of those cars have problems, but they are cheap since they don’t hold their value well. I would recommend an Acura Integra, RSX, TL, or CL, Honda Accord or Civic, Mazda3 or Mazda6, Nissan Altima, Any Scion xA, xB, or tC, Toyota Camary, Celica, or Solara. Those cars are a little bit more pricey to fix, but they hold their value extremely well (I own a 1999 Honda Accord with 134k miles, and I’ve been given a trade-in value of $4500 even after a wreck). They won’t let you down. They get good mileage and are very safe cars that will run over, epically the Honda’s and Toyota’s. Hope I could help.

if you worked for the 9000 and saved on your own, then save another 4000 and buy a new toyota yaris. be the best deal you can make out with…..maybe see mom and dad would loan you the rest

Toyota Corolla. Buy a good used one from Enterprise Rent-a-car but be sure to get the remaining Warranty Rights. Other Rental agencies have them too.

buy american. the imports get good mileage, but so do the ones made here, in the USA. parts are usually cheaper, and no matter what car you get it will need to be fixed eventually.
